THE SHORT VERSION

A bathroom remodel takes 3–6 weeks from demolition to final walkthrough: guest baths and tub-to-shower conversions land at the shorter end, full master suites at the longer end. Design, material selection, and permitting happen before demo day, so the construction window stays tight and predictable.

Phase by phase

Week 1: demolition, plumbing and electrical rough-in, and any framing changes, followed by city rough inspection. Week 2: shower pan construction, substrate, and waterproofing — with inspection held between waterproofing and tile — then drywall. Weeks 3–4: tile setting and grout, painting, and flooring. Weeks 4–6: vanity and countertop installation, plumbing trim-out, glass templating and install, lighting, accessories, and the final walkthrough.

The two waits you can’t compress

Two items gate every bathroom schedule: tile work, which is skilled handwork that can’t be rushed without showing it, and shower glass, which is measured only after tile is complete and then takes days to fabricate. Everything else can be sequenced tightly around them. This is also why selecting all materials before demo matters — a tile decision made mid-project stalls the whole chain behind it.

What keeps a Birdseye bathroom on schedule

Every project runs with a project manager and office manager coordinating licensed trades in sequence, permits pulled before demo, and selections locked in the design phase. Changes mid-project are handled by documented change orders that state their schedule impact in writing — so a two-day change never quietly becomes a two-week drift.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my bathroom at all during the remodel?

Not the one being remodeled — plan on using another bathroom for the duration. Crews contain dust and protect floors along the access path.

What most often extends a bathroom remodel?

Late material selections, back-ordered tile or fixtures, and mid-project scope changes. Locking selections before demo prevents nearly all of it.

How long does a tub-to-shower conversion take?

Typically 2–3 weeks: demo and waterproofed pan in week one, tile in week two, then glass and trim-out.

When do I pick my tile, vanity, and fixtures?

Before construction starts. Birdseye builds the design, mood board, and selections with you first, then quotes a fixed price around those exact materials.
